Coralling the most relevant and creative on- and off-line bits that pertain to the design community – and said community is openly invited and encouraged to add their hard-earned links.
There is no intuitive way to start a page on a Wiki, here are the two possible ways (which become easy after they’ve been done a couple of times):
As you read through entries in the design encyclopedia you will run into orange links. Orange links indicate that the word should have its own entry but that no content has been created for it. So, for example, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a link with no content, if you were to click on it you would be taken to a page that reads “This topic does not exist yet”, you can then create content for this page by clicking on the upper-left button that reads “Create this Page”. Once you have finished writing, you press “Save” and you are done.
This requires an extra step but it follows the same idea as the previous way. You must create an orange link. You can do this by wrapping a word within two square brackets (see syntax) in an existing entry or you can head to the The Playground where you can test drive the Wiki and create empty links for your benefit.
If both of the above options do not work or are too confusing, do not hesitate to e-mail us with something you would like to add. Write it in an e-mail, with links, titles, images and send it to us.
If you have decided to tackle this on your own, here is a sample page to get you started and on the right track.
The Design Encyclopedia is a division of UnderConsideration.
Some content has been gathered from existing sources and has not been altered in any way; in most cases the source is attributed.
All official descriptions and biographies are publicly available and remain the property of their authors.
